Gasifier and its Application
1. Power Applications
Producer gas generated by Infinite Gasifiers can be used to power generation with suitable Gas engines ( 100 % gas mode) or with modified diesel engines ( dual fuel mode).
{A} Gas Engine running on 100% producer gas
The typical requirement of wood/biomass to be gasified to generate 1 unit of power is as shown below.
Power | 1 kWh |
---|---|
Biomass Required in Kg* | 1.1 - 1.5 |
12%. calorific value ~3600 kcal/kg
{B} Diesel Engines running on dual fuel mode
In dual fuel mode of operation, engine modification is confined to a special induction manifold fitted with a gas-air mixer. The pilot injection of diesel amounting to 15 -30% of original consumption (approximately equal to the no-load diesel consumption of the engine) is required for ignition, depending on the load. The loss in engine output is normally 20-25% on dual fuel operation.
The diesel engine can revert to 100% diesel operation and 100% capacity immediately on switching off of producer gas supply to the air-gas mixer.
The typical requirement of wood/biomass to be gasified to generate 1 unit of power is as shown below.
Power | 1 kWh |
---|---|
Biomass Required in Kg* | 0.9 - 1.15 + |
Diesel Required in Liters | <0.1 Lt |
< 12%. calorific value ~3600 kcal/kg
2.Thermal Applications
The INFINITE Vergassen is a simple and reliable solution for bringing down the fuel cost by over 50%. The INFINITE Vergassen is capable of converting any type of biomass to good quality burnable gas (producer-gas) by means of a process known as thermal gasification. The producer gas can be piped from the gasifier (which may be located outside the plant building ) to the ovens/furnaces/etc located in the plant building and burnt in specially designed burners, in place of fossil fuels like F.O/L.D.O/Diesel/LPG/CNG.
Thus expensive liquid/gas fuels can be effectively replaced by low cost wood without any changes in operations, temperature profile, temperature control and cleanliness in the plant area.
The typical requirement of wood/biomass to be gasified to replace fossil fuel is as shown below.
Fuel | Disel 1 litre | L.D.O.1 litre | F.O. 1 Kg | L.P.G. 1 Kg |
---|---|---|---|---|
Biomass Required in Kg* | 3.3-4.0 | 3.3-4.0 | 3.5-4.5 | 4.0-5.0 |
